AgLaunch helps agtech startups grow their business in a farm-centric model. The AgLaunch Mentor Network includes university and business executives, agricultural industry experts, startup founders, and farmers. Mentors offer their support through one-on-one coaching, training sessions, and providing insight and feedback during AgLaunch programming. Mentors work with startups on topics such as go-to market strategy, regulatory pathways, fundraising, investor pitches, intellectual property, and much more.
This program is a collaboration between AgLaunch, the Knoxville Entrepreneur Center, and Launch Tennessee, and serves startups based in the state of Tennessee. The model is based on the Springboard CONNECT program originally developed in San Diego as a collaboration between government, research institutions and the private sector to help bring new products to market. Participating startups work with a team of mentors to complete a five-stage mentoring process.
Mentor Pro is an extension of the AgLaunch Mentor Network that is designed to provide technical assistance to high-potential startups. Mentors with specific skills and expertise are matched with AgLaunch alumni and current cohort startups that show promise towards reaching profitability and success with the right guidance and professional interventions. The ‘mentor’ becomes a ‘consultant’ and is compensated for targeted services and technical assistance through a cost-share between the startup and AgLaunch.
